The OpenWAML Developer Studio (XIDE) is the primary tool for creating, editing and testing WAML based windows.

The developer studio is an extremely valuble tool for creating and prototyping web applications and can be used in conjunction with your existing development tools (i.e. Visual Studio, Delphi Developer Studio, etc.) or as a standalone editor for WAML files.

The X-IDE enables you to:

  • Visually create application windows and forms with components selectable from multiple libraries.
  • Edit WAML code directly in the editor with full auto-completion and context sensitive help.
  • Edit JavaScript (or VBScript) code with syntax highlighting.
  • Execute your applications directly from the studio.

Visual Window Designer

With the visual screen designer you can:

  • Add components to a window from any of the installed libraries.
  • Visually change component alignment or position.
  • Manipulating component properties.
  • Create component event handlers in either JavaScript or VBScript.

WAML Code Editor

The WAML editor is a full featured XML editor with auto-completion, syntax highlighting and context sensitive help.

JavaScript / VBScript Code Editor

The code editor is a syntax highlighting editor for JavaScript or VBScript.

IDE Configuration Options

Most of the configuration settings of the IDE can be changed to suit your personal preferences.
